Peoria Public Schools , Community Contribution Award, 2015-2016 School Year.
The 1999 Governor's Home Town Award.
The 1999 National Association of Counties, Achievement Award.
The 1999 National Association of Counties Arts and Culture Award, Finalist.
The 1997 Innovations in American Government Award, Semifinalist, sponsored by the Ford Foundation, Harvard University and the Council for Excellence in Government. (There were 100 semifinalists, chosen from 1550 program nominees.)
The 1997 Sidney R. Yates Arts Advocacy Award in the Special Recognition category, presented by the Illinois Arts Alliance Foundation in Chicago, Illinois.
The 1996 Arts Education Advocacy Award in the Community Service category, presented by the Illinois Alliance for Arts Education in Chicago, Illinois.
The 1990 National Association of Counties Achievement Award.
